Downtown Ramblers (S) say good bye

On 7th May, there was an article in about our friends in Sweden:

The Downtown Ramblers (S),

Sad news for fans of Swedish bluegrass group, Downtown Ramblers. The band has announced today that they will no longer be performing together after an eight year run that found them touring across Europe and in the US. In recent years, the band has been named top band in the Swedish Bluegrass Championship in 2007, and Top European Band at the European World of Bluegrass festival in ’09. Thanks to Richard Hawkins for forwarding this great news from Tom Nechville:
Custom AL RAS Classic Helimount from Nechville!

In honor of the 13th year of the Al Ras festival (15th Novemerd 2014) in Mollet del Vàlles, Barcelona, Spain, Nechville Musical Products is building a Custom Walnut Classic valued over $6,000 and offering it to a lucky player simply for donating $4000 to the Al Ras festival.* As a long time builder and player, Tom Nechville has a talent for combining the best components to achieve the desired effect. The Al Ras Classic is designed for pure depth and rich powerful tone. The perfectly sawn Black Walnut neck wood is capped with an exotic striped Macassar ebony fingerboard and shaped with a compound radius and wide long lasting frets. The Diamond Wing pearl and abalone inlay is adorned with a custom Al Ras name plate. Gotoh tuners with black knobs compliment the black and white binding and Eclipse Black Heli-Mount frame. The resonator is a spectacular burl Walnut for stunning beauty. The tone even surpasses its looks. With Nechville's top of the line tone ring mounted "Cyclotronically" on a special antique reclaimed Maple rim, The projection and volume is maximized while the richness comes from the perfectly even and non-hardware mounting in the Nechville Heli-Mount. Every component of this Classic banjo will be optimized for beauty and tone. The lucky buyer will receive more than his or her money's worth in this brand new top-line Classic complete with deluxe hard shell case, radiused capo, 5th string spikes, tools, manual and lifetime warranty. This priceless masterpiece is obtainable as soon as the instrument is complete and your payment is received by the Al Ras festival committee. The Foghorn Stringband at Bühl Bluegrass Festival
on 2nd May (photo: Lilly Pavlak)
Dear friends of USA Roots Music,
some of you might remember them of the Bluegrass Jamboree Tour 2012: The tall blonde woman and the equally tall man with the cowboy hat, Reeb Willms and Caleb Klauder enthusiastic with strong and spirited vocals roaming through all genres of Folk, Honky Tonk Country, Oldtime to bluegrass .
Now these two finally are touring with their full band, the FOGHORN STRING BAND, their first time in Germany. Foghorn Stringband is the shining gold standard for American stringband music, with seven albums, thousands of shows, over a decade of touring under their belts, and two entirely new generations of old-time musicians following their lead. Through all this, they’ve never let the music grow cold; instead they’ve been steadily proving that American roots music is a never-ending well of inspiration. From their origins in Portland, Oregon’s underground roots music scene, the core duo of Foghorn Stringband, Caleb Klauder, whose wistful, keening vocals and rapid-fire mandolin picking have always been the heart of the band, and Stephen ‘Sammy’ Lind, ...
