US banjoist in Europe

Thanks to John Lawless of Bluegrass Today for this interesting news:

Dan in Spain, source:
After 22 years as a firefighter in Washington state, when he got retired, Dan Monte Calvo’s ambitious scheme was, “to play my banjo in as many different countries as possible, meet as many people as I can and spread the love of bluegrass music and the banjo around the world.” He flew to London in December 2013 and began his banjo pilgrimage, writing and playing songs along the way. His two daughters are taking turns traveling along, and one, Emma, a film school grad, is helping him chronicle this adventure.
Here's the report on Bluegrass Today and here is a direct link to Dan's travelogue, The Dan Project. Enjoy travelling along!
