New blood in Denmark

Spencer Sorenson reports from Bluegrass Music Denmark:

We are continuing on our program of ten annual concerts, with high-quality bluegrass from Europe and occasionally the US. We continue to see a slow but steady increase in the number of attendees, and are happy to report that they are very attentive and knowledgeable, and provide a very good concert atmosphere. This past year was successful, and culminated in our annual Bluegrass Night, which featured an all-Scandinavian night with Earlybird Stringband from Norway, Rockridge Brothers with old-time from Sweden, and the debut of a new Danish band, Ungrassified. We are very pleased to have some young up and coming musicians joining our efforts, and look for supplements and replacements for those of us who have been involved with the organisation for a long time.

We have an exciting concert program planned for 2012, and have already had two successful concerts, the latest being a return engagement of G-runs 'n Roses, who gave a memorable performance as usual. We are thrilled to be able to present one of the top American bands, the Gibson Brothers, who will appear in Copenhagen on 2 May. We are really looking forward to that, and hoping to meet a lot of bluegrass fans at the various summer arrangements.
