BanjoMania in Brittany, 16-18 Mar. 2012

Thanks to Aran Sheehan in Dublin, Ireland, for the news that a 'unique rendezvous with BanjoMania' will be held near Plouaret, Côtes-d'Armor, Brittany, in north-west France, over the St Patrick's Day weekend (16-18 Mar. 2012).

The YES WEEKEND! (organised by the Compagnie Papier Théâtre, la Quincaillerie) will include concerts, a masterclass, and a Ciné-Repas at the Vieux-Marché near Lannion. Two outstanding banjo-players will take part: Gilles Rézard from Lyon, one of the rare French masters of 5-string banjo, who plays with spirit in several musical genres; and Tom Hanway (USA; resident in Ireland since 2003). For more info, see the poster image (click for a larger view) or contact the Compagnie Papier Théâtre.

Gilles Rézard and Jacques Titley will be playing as a duo, together with the trio from Ireland of Tom Hanway (banjo), Aran Sheehan (mandolin), and Hugh Taggart (guitar) for a bluegrass evening on Friday 16 Mar. at Korong, Glomel (22), and there will be a final concert of Irish bluegrass on Sunday 18 Mar. at the Sabots Rouges, Gueméné/Scorff (56).
