Soulgrass in Eurasia

Bluegrass Today reports that Bill Evans (USA) - no, not the banjo maestro but the jazz saxophone maestro - is touring in Europe and adjacent areas with his group Soulgrass. And the 5-string banjo is in the picture, too: played by progressive banjo icon Ryan Cavanaugh, a regular member of the group, which has also welcomed guest pickers such as Bela Fleck and Sam Bush.

The tour began in Ireland on 29 October and will continue till 19 November; most of the dates are in Germany, but the band is also playing in Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Turkey, and Russia. Full tour details, together with audio tracks, are on the Bill Evans website.
