Old Sledge in Britain, 23 Sept.-7 Oct. 2011

Luke Richardson, Chance McCoy, Sabra Guzman

G Promo PR announce that Old Sledge, a hard-driving old-time string band from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, will tour Britain in September and October in support of their acclaimed new album Don't let your deal go down. A video can be seen on YouTube of Old Sledge performing the title track live at the Freight & Salvage in Berkeley, California, May 2011.

Old Sledge is led by Chance McCoy, multiple fiddle champion of West Virginia and onetime star of the BBC TV show 'Folk America', who learned his music directly from the old masters. Sabra Guzmán provides driving rhythm guitar and lead and harmony vocals. They are joined by Luke Richardson from Tennessee on clawhammer banjo, a protégé of Adam Hurt. Old Time Herald says they

sound deeply traditional in the best and most effortless sense: they've listened a lot to the people who came before them, and they pay respect with every note, but the music is their own.

The band is also on Facebook. The tour dates are:
