Bluegrass summer and autumn in Switzerland

Kent Miller of the Swiss Bluegrass Music Association (SBMA) reports:

This was a successful bluegrass summer in Switzerland. The weather cooperated for the open-air festivals. In fact, the later the festival the better the weather, which led to good times for all of the bluegrass fans and regional organisers. Rhonda Vincent (USA) also was happy to have two sold-out concerts here in the middle of summer, due mainly to cross-over support.

The SBMA's Bill Monroe insert-special in the new Country Style magazine has been well received. We appreciate the great effort that goes into doing anything extra during a given year. We are happy to have contributed to Bill's year in this way. The SBMA will also present a Bill Monroe Special on a Swiss internet station, Country Radio this September.

Dailey & Vincent (USA) are headliners at Country Night Gstaad on 9-10 September.

The local clubs and jams continue to thrive. We hear the Bluegrass Jamboree! from Germany will be making a stop again in Schaffhausen in December [3 Dec.]. Be sure to consult our homepage if you are planning to be in Switzerland this winter.
