39th Banjo Jamboree overcomes the rain

Petr Brandejs, chairman of the Czech Bluegrass Music Association (CzBMA) and EBMA board member, reports:

The CzBMA's 39th edition of the oldest European festival, Banjo Jamboree, started on Friday and ended this Sunday (19 June) with early-morning informal jam-sessions at the open-air theatre in Čáslav, Czech Republic.

Among the 27 performers there were also newly included mandolin wizard Radim Zenkl as well as the great Don Rigsby & Midnight Call (USA). Despite the Saturday afternoon rain, the faithful audience kept supporting the musicians even after Saturday midnight.
