Sons of Navarone get airplay in Virginia, USA

Guido Bos of the Sons of Navarone reports:

Jim Snavely, WBTX Music Director, contacted us a couple of weeks ago. He came up with this idea after one of the local Belgian exchange students wanted to do something in radio... and since he hosts a weekly bluegrass show and knows of the excellent bluegrass groups in Europe, he thought: let's do a program and have these two girls co-host with me... but they are of Belgian interest. The two co-hosts [shown above with Jim] are Zoe Malmendier of Lontzen and Manon Henry of Corry-Le-Grand, Brabant, Belgium. They had no idea what bluegrass was, but after the program they became converts.

Matter of fact, they said they'd like to take in one of our shows once they get back to Belgium this summer. The radio show aired on 1470-AM, WBTX in Broadway, VA, USA 22815 on Friday, May 13 2011.

Apart from the Sons, also songs from 4 Wheel Drive (NL/D/B), Steve Louvat (B), Rawhide (B), and Red Wine (I) were used in the program. Pictures are available on WBTX-Radio Facebook.
