Donna Ulisse in Russia, July 2011

Thanks to Richard F Thompson for this news:

Nashville-based singer-songwriter Donna Ulisse (USA) will headline at the Second Kremlin Square Russian Bluegrass Festival in Vologda, Russia.

The invitation from the US-Russia Bilateral Presidential Commission means that Ulisse, along with her band, the Poor Mountain Boys, will make two appearances at the Vologda festival and two appearances at private functions in Yekatarinburg, Russia.

The Poor Mountain Boys are Rick Stanley (guitar), Jon Martin (mandolin), Greg Davis (banjo), Tony King (guitar), and Bobby King (bass).

The first concert appearance is scheduled for Tuesday 12 July 2011, 7.00 p.m. This will be Ulisse's first international trip. Pete and Joan Wernick topped the bill at last year’s festival [see the EBB for 24 Aug. 2010].

Ulisse’s fourth album, An easy climb (Hadley Music Group), is to be released shortly.
