The Coal Porters (UK/USA), who are known as 'the world's first alt.bluegrass band' and 'the Clash of bluegrass', will perform as part of the Cork Midsummer Festival (11-26 June 2011) in Cork city, Ireland.
As shown on the Festival website, they will play in concert at Murphy's Spiegeltent, beginning at 7.30 p.m. on Saturday 18 June. Doors open at 7.00 p.m.; tickets are €15 (€12 concession).
The Coal Porters, who have often played in Ireland in recent years, performed at the International Bluegrass Music Museum in Owensboro, KY, in February 2011 (see the European Bluegrass Blog for 14 Feb.), and have earned critical acclaim for their recordings and live shows.
