From the report of the 3rd European Bluegrass Summit by Angelika Torrie and Dagfinn Pedersen, published in the March 2011 issue of the IBMA's journal International Bluegrass:
The first meeting of the EBMA Festival Network (EFN) took place at the 3rd European Bluegrass Summit on February 19. Intended as a communication network, it will make it easier for bands touring Europe to get in contact with the member festivals through one common e-mail address, going to all members.
Membership is limited to those festivals that have an international flavour and normally book foreign bands. All the 11 festivals present at the summit signed up for the EFN, including some of the most important ones, like European World of Bluegrass (EWOB in Holland) and La Roche Bluegrass Festival (France). Also Banjo Jamboree (Europe’s oldest running festival) and Jamboree (both in Czech Republic), Johnny Keenan Banjo Festival (Ireland), the International Bühl Bluegrass Festival (plus two more, in Munich and Birkenried, Germany), Didmarton Bluegrass Festival (UK), Risør Bluegrass Festival (Norway), and the International Bluegrass & Acoustic Festival (Hungary). All other festivals will now be invited and the network is planned to be operational and integrated in the EBMA website before the end of March.
Information on how to join the EBMA Festival Network will be published on the EBB and in Bluegrass Europe as soon as possible.
