Swiss Independence celebrated in Brazil

Every year the São Paulo Bluegrass Music Association in São Paulo, Brazil, holds a jam session at the Olivo Bar to celebrate US Independence Day (4 July). This year the SPBMA also celebrated the independence of Switzerland since 1291 with a jam at the Olivo on Saturday 1 August, the Swiss national day. The Association's president, Erio Meili, originally comes from Switzerland.

Many more photos and audio samples from the session can be found on the SPBMA website. Newgrass was strongly represented by material from Bela Fleck's album Drive (1988). Also on offer at the session was Erio's homemade Kentucky Pecan Pie, for which the recipe can be found here.
