The Didmarton Bluegrass Festival at Kemble Airfield, near Cirencester, Gloucestershire, England (4-6 Sept. 2009), has received two very generous offers of sponsorship.
The UK agents for the Santa Cruz Guitar Company, who will have their product range on display at Didmarton, are offering a Model D Dreadnought guitar as first prize in a draw promoted by the festival. Audio manufacturers Audio-Technica are also donating one of their famous AT4033 condenser microphones, a favourite among bluegrass and old-time bands that use the single-mic technique. This will also be a prize in the Didmarton Festival draw.
Tickets will be available shortly, priced at just £2.00 each. Additional prizes will include a free place (tuition fees only) for Sore Fingers Week 2010. Several runner-up prizes include free tickets for Didmarton 2010, CDs, musical goodies, etc. Winners will be announced following the draw in December 2009.
Full details of the draw and the line-up (headed by Mountain Heart) at Didmarton are on the festival website. The full text of a press release on the sponsorships is here.
