Following yesterday's post on the generous sponsorship for the Didmarton Bluegrass Festival (4-6 Sept. 2009) in England, the organisers report:
It's that time of the year again and things are all falling into place as Moira, John and the rest of the dedicated team put the final touches to the festival organisation.
Apart from the fantastic line up of music we have programmed, we have other good news: there will be showers at Didmarton this year! Our friends at OGRI have successfully negotiated with the land owners and come to an arrangement to allow us to drain into the airfield’s system without causing an environmental disaster! So, we can all keep clean this time around!
As a result of the Audio-Technica company donating an AT4033 microphone, the New Essex Bluegrass Band will be doing a 'single-mic' workshop explaining how to get the best out of this practice.
That and with bands like Mountain Heart, Chris Newman and Maire Ni Chathasaigh, Rabbi John, Carl Jones and Beverly Smith, A Band Like Alice, the Scoville Units, the Carrivick Sisters, etc., it’s going to be a fun weekend!
There are so many in attendance on the Friday that we have extended the programme to begin on main stage at 1.00 p.m. on Friday so you will be getting even more for your money this year.
If you’ve been before, you know why Didmarton is Britain’s premier bluegrass festival and quickly turning into one of the South West’s favourite acoustic music festivals. If you haven’t been, you need to come and find out more! There’s more info on the website and there are plenty of tickets available!
