Dagfinn Pedersen, EBMA board member and national representative for Norway, reports:
Being located on the outskirts of the bluegrass world, we do not expect to see too many foreigners at the festival; it is too costly travelling up from Europe. But we would like to see you and will contribute to your travelling expenses by giving all members of EBMA living outside Norway a 50% discount on festival tickets and camping. That would be a saving of more than the cost of an active membership in EBMA (€50) – for each person. Just send me an e-mail and tell me you’re coming.
The festival: July 16–18, 33 bands, 43 concerts plus 2 children programs and a church concert. Familiar bands from EWOB, like Downtown Ramblers (S), Chris Jones & Ned Luberecki (USA), Blackjack (CZ), Ila Auto (NO), Sunny Side (CZ), Holstein United Bluegrass Boys (NO), Bluegrass Cwrkot (CZ), Petr Brandejs & Friends (CZ), and Jirka Kralik & Rowdy Rascals (CZ), plus some 25 more Norwegian bands. All bands stay in the festival camp together with the audience, and there is jamming till morning. Beautiful scenery on a horse farm on the side of a wilderness lake you’ll fall in love with. The workshop: July 13–16, in all instruments and harmony singing. There is still places available on most instruments. Sign up here.
