Photos from Birkenried 2011

Thanks to Lilly Pavlak for these photos of the 3rd International Bluegrass Meeting Birkenried, presented by the Country & Western Friends Kötz 1982 e.V. at Birkenried, Germany, over the weekend 2-4 Sept. 2011. Full details, including links to band websites, are on the Friends' website.

As the poster (left) shows, the festival was also a celebration of the centenary of the birth of the Father of Bluegrass Music, and included displays on the life of Bill Monroe and a talk about him by Eberhard Finke, founder and former editor of Bluegrass Bühne, now the official magazine of the GBMA.
